кто-нибудь знает как можно организовать выделение цветом последнего запущенного (открытого) файла/дирректории?

по-моему, у тотал не следит за последними обращениями к файлу...

Естественно. Не хватало еще чтобы и тотал следил. За этим должна следить винда. В версии Total Commander 6.5 во внутреннем контентном плагине появилась дата последнего обращения к файлу. - по ней и следи и раскрашивай.
